OSU Students in Search Marketing 754 (Principles of Electronic Marketing) Get Opportunity to Do First Guest Blog Post
by Laura Thieme

Hello everyone! In case you’re wondering what some of these off-topic blog posts are about below (and perhaps above depending on the landing page you’ve come in on) this post - I’ve asked our students at Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business Principles of Electronic Marketing 754 (aka Search Marketing 754) to do their first blog post on Bizresearch.com. Why? It gives students a chance to post on a corporate blog, and refer to this work later. It’s always easy to do your own blog, but sometimes a little harder to do this on somebody else’s blog. You have to learn something new.

The students were asked to talk about five different topics, and it was okay to voice their candid opinions. I did tell the students that they should keep in mind this is a corporate blog, and they might want to review other blog entries to better understand what Bizresearch is all about, and what I’m all about. Many of you know I’m about the environment and pets, outside of work, and perhaps even at work. At Bizresearch, it is okay to bring your dog to work. And, we can all work harder to conserve, reduce, reuse, and recycle (aka the environment).

One risk of allowing other people to post in your blog admin -well, we can talk about the challenges of letting someone else work in your corporate blog - and cautions in the coming weeks. We’re using Wordpress, and it doesn’t allow you certain precautions. That said, we’ll reference corporate blogging solutions later, after we learn the good and bad of letting others post in your corporate Wordpress blog admin area.

In the meantime, I thought our clients and colleagues who come to our site might enjoy reading what our OSU students are up to, outside of search marketing. And for those of you who know me well, know that I just put a cat and a dog to sleep a little over a month ago, one month apart. It was horrible! So, what better blog post to start off with than the happy story below about Diego, a new dog to one of our OSU students - after having lost another dog of 12 years.

Thanks Jesse for sharing your story about your adorable Labradoodle dog, Diego./Laura
