This session was very interesting and was filled with lots of good information.  Here are the top ten things I learned about links.

  1. It is about quality not quantity
  2. Link structure is important
  3. Check your competitors for links –do a back linking check
  4. Do not dilute your "quality’ content
  5. A well run affiliate program can bring you plenty of traffic, however this can cause problems
  6. Don’t try to fake linkage data (this won’t work)
  7. Asking for a link is like asking to do business with someone
  8. Acquiring links is very time consuming
  9. At the end of the day good content is better than having lots of links
  10. If you have good content people will want to link to you.
