Link Building
March 1st 2006 SES New York
Speakers: Mike Grehan, Debra Mastalter, Eric Ward
This session was very interesting and was filled with lots of good information. Here are the top ten things I learned about links.
- It is about quality not quantity
- Link structure is important
- Check your competitors for links –do a back linking check
- Do not dilute your "quality’ content
- A well run affiliate program can bring you plenty of traffic, however this can cause problems
- Don’t try to fake linkage data (this won’t work)
- Asking for a link is like asking to do business with someone
- Acquiring links is very time consuming
- At the end of the day good content is better than having lots of links
- If you have good content people will want to link to you.
